How to set up Malta IPTV on Windows
A Windows PC gives you the largest screen and the most reliable playback of anything on this list, simply because it has the horsepower to decode 4K without dropping a frame. Installing is an ordinary desktop affair with one warning worth knowing ahead of time: SmartScreen will flag the file, because the installer has not yet been downloaded often enough for Microsoft to build a reputation score for it. Both Windows 10 and 11 are supported.

checklistBefore you start
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Your username, password and server URL from the subscription email
- About 200 MB of free disk space
Step-by-Step Setup
Windows Installation
Download Malta Player
Head to our Downloads page and take the Windows installer. Already have VLC or IPTV Smarters Pro on this machine? Either will play your subscription and you can skip to the login step — you will just want the server URL alongside your username and password.
Install the Application
Run the file you downloaded. SmartScreen will most likely show a blue "Windows protected your PC" panel — click "More info", then "Run anyway". That panel appears for any installer without an expensive code-signing reputation and says nothing about the file itself. After that it is the usual wizard: Next, accept, Install.
Login with Your Credentials
In Malta Player, type the username and password from your subscription email and click Login. In another player, select "Xtream Codes API" and enter the server URL, username and password, or use the M3U link. Paste rather than type — a single wrong character in a long server address is the classic cause of a failed first login.
Enable Hardware Acceleration
In the player settings, switch on hardware decoding — sometimes named DXVA or GPU decoding. It moves the workload off the processor and onto the graphics chip: on a laptop, the difference between silent and noisy; on an older PC, the difference between fluid 4K and a slideshow.
Enjoy on Your PC
Channels, guide, films and series are all in. To put it on the television, connect over HDMI or use Windows Cast — press Windows+K and pick your TV. Full screen is F, or a double-click, in most players.

Common problems
Fixes specific to Windows
SmartScreen refuses to run the installer
Click "More info", then "Run anyway". If that button is not there, the download probably did not complete — fetch the file again and check its size against the Downloads page before running it.
Video stutters despite a fast connection
Hardware decoding is switched off, or the player quietly fell back to software. Enable DXVA or GPU decoding in the settings and update your graphics driver — an out-of-date driver is a textbook cause of dropped 4K frames.
The app will not connect but the website loads
A firewall or VPN is blocking the player. Permit the app through Windows Defender Firewall — Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection > Allow an app — and if you run a VPN, test with it disabled to find the culprit.
